South High School’s Instrumental and Vocal Concert will take place on Friday, March 8, at 7:30 p.m., in the school’s auditorium, 341 Lakeville Road. This year’s concert will combine the outstanding performances by South’s students with the fundraising efforts coordinated by the music department to help defray the cost of the restoration of one of South’s two Steinway Grand Pianos. This piano was built in 1958 and is used primarily in the choral room. Over time, the piano has deteriorated to the point where it now needs to be restored so that it will last for many years to come.
The fundraiser ticket to the concert is $15 for adults and $10 for senior citizens and children. The fee includes a potluck dinner which will take place in instrumental room 309, at 6:30 p.m., an hour before the concert begins. Patrons are asked to please bring a favorite main course dish with serving utensils.
We hope you can join us and help support our fundraising efforts for our Steinway Grand Piano beginning with dinner at 6:30 p.m., and followed by the Concert at 7:30 p.m. See you on Friday, March 8.
