I am writing to you about the article that was on the front page of the Great Neck Record entitled ‘My Address is Unlucky.’ My name is Edna Mashaal and I am the broker listing this property for sale. I also have been a resident of Great Neck for over 45 years and have raised my family in this town. I am writing this letter because I believe that this article unfairly stigmatized this wonderful family and their beautiful home and unfairly portrays the issue under discussion.
Its not about this house or about it being an unlucky address. I am grateful that the Silversteins have come forward to discuss this issue and happy that they have brought this matter to the attention of Great Neck Village as well as the community at large.
It would be a win win situation for all involved to consider to change some of the house numbers, especially when there is logical room for an alternative number. The Silversteins deserve a clarification that their house is not ‘Unlucky’ and their home has been a wonderful, lucky, happy and healthy place to raise their children.
The real conversation should be about how to best accommodate the real estate needs of both buyers and sellers in our very wonderful, diverse and fascinating community of Great Neck.
Last but not least, I never said I wanted to be anonymous.
