Friday, 09 September 2011 00:00There will be many words penned, many images shown as we mark a decade after September 11, 2001. Collectively we came together as a community to grieve for all the lives that were lost that day and the sense of security that was shattered.
As we remember, our first thoughts go to the families who were directly affected.
It is our hope that the families and friends of Peter Frank, Jonathan Ielpi, Frederick Kuo, Jr., Richard Yun Choon Lee, Andrew Stergiopoulos and Joshua Vitale have found comfort in remembering the days of the lives of their loved ones...rather than that one day.
Our thoughts go out to the men and women who worked in the wreckage of the buildings for months and who are now having health problems from breathing the toxins that were released. Our government has spent billions in an attempt to strengthen our security; there should be money to help the people who labored in the heart of our heartache.
Ten years later, words still cannot fill the void.
