Written by Carol Frank Friday, 24 July 2009 00:00We were prepared to grouse about the Plaza’s muni-meters…before they were installed.
But now that they’re in, we love them.
First, they are a big improvement over those muni-meters where you have to schlep back and forth to put a ticket in your car window…especially in the wintertime when the pavement is icy.
The meter ticketing centers are conveniently sited in two locations and the instructions are clearly written and easy to follow.
The Plaza recently repainted the car space numbers a bright yellow, another improvement over the original white numbers that might have been hard to see in the wintertime when the pavement is covered with snow or ice.
The only snag we have heard about occurs if someone enters the wrong number in the meter machine. Let’s say you have paid to park in a space for two hours and someone else parks for an hour, but accidentally punches in your space number instead of theirs. You might get a ticket under those circumstances.
The person we know who had this problem, took her ticket over to the Plaza office across the street and they quickly and pleasantly cancelled the ticket.
So, remember to hold onto your parking stub.
Kudos to the Plaza!
