Share your beautiful street garden with everyone in the community. A street garden is defined as a large or small garden containing only living plants available to be viewed from the street. Plantings may be potted in containers and may include garden sculpture. Participants must live in any of the Great Neck Villages to be eligible. Criteria: is the garden pleasing to the eye, well maintained (weeded-deadheaded), fully visible from the curb, contain only living plants, flowers, shrubs, trees? The Great Neck Garden Club will visit gardens on June 18, 19 or 20 to view and photograph entries and to select gardens to be included in the program. There will be a reception and photographic exhibit of the street gardens on view at the Great Neck Library during a celebration honoring participants. Photographs of the gardens may appear on various LI publications only with the permission of the finalists. All participants will receive certificates of recognition and a year’s free membership in the GN Garden Club.
