The North Shore Hebrew Academy Elementary and High Schools, in conjunction with the greater Great Neck Jewish community, will celebrate the completion of 12 new Sifrei Torah. The celebration is the culmination of the Sam Aharonoff Shivtei Torah Campaign and all proceeds will go to the Sam Aharonoff Memorial Scholarship Fund. The gathering and procession will take place in two locations at 9:30 a.m. - one at the corner of Middle Neck Rd. and Old Mill Rd. and the second at Polo Rd., between William and Florence Sts. •Israeli Folk Dance Night with renowned folk dance instructor Danny Uziel. Beginners welcome. For the first 30 minutes Danny will instruct, then move to some more intermediate dances for everyone to enjoy. •The Board of Commissioners of the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire and Water Districts will meet each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and the first and third Thursday at 6:30 p.m. (through Dec. 31) to discuss the weekly business of the district. Participants in the caregiver support group sessions will learn a variety of coping techniques including ways to minimize stress and relate to others experiencing similar situations.
