Great Neck Main Library Tour

A tour of the Main Library will be led by Library Board Trustee Joel Marcus, and Alice K. Merwin, a long-time Great Neck resident and supporter of the library at 11 a.m. in the main lobby of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue, to show the improvements being planned as part of the proposed renovation. 45 minutes.

Na’aleh Concert

At 3 p.m., at Temple Israel of Great Neck, 108 Old Mill Road, Na’aleh Women’s Ensemble under the baton of new conductor, Shira Fishkin, will celebrate its 10th year with a Fall Concert on Sunday, presenting  Jewish liturgical, ethnic and folk music in English, Hebrew, Ladino and Yiddish. REAP, retired, energetic, active people meets Tuesdays at the Cumberland School, 30 Cumberland Avenue in Great Neck. At 9 a.m. Abner Sheffer will present, “Lincoln Starts the Civil War.” This will be followed by a business meeting at 10:30 am. “My Opinion” will be presented by Carl Davis. “Journey to the Center of the Soul” will be discussed by Elizabeth Rowe. Lunch break at 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Bring your lunch if you like. Roundtable discussion of current events follows lunch to be led by Eileen Abramson. Coffee, tea and refreshments are served.

Dance Party At Emanuel

From 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Emanuel throws the best Dance Party on Long Island with everyone’s favorite DJ/dance instructor Louis Del Prete. Dance to the best Ballroom and Latin music. Couples and single individuals are welcome; there are reserved tables for singles. Admission is $15/person and includes refreshments and a dance lesson at 7:45 p.m. with Louis.
