A Wake-up Call, a 10-minute film short by Barbara Sutton Masry and Adam Nadler and a discussion will be featured at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. Joining the discussion will be Laura Weinberg, current president of the Great Neck Breast Cancer Coalition. A Wake-up Call vividly dramatizes the racial and political aspects of cancer in our society.
Highlights of Masterpieces of Dutch Painting from the Mauritshuis collection, with art historian Mary Vahey will be presented at 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. Highlights are from the Dutch Museum Royal Picture Gallery Mauritshuis collection, representing the range of subject matter and technique prevalent in seventeenth-century painting in The Netherlands. The Frick Collection is the final venue of this American tour of paintings.

Great Neck High School’s graduating class of 1953 will hold its 60th reunion at the Inn at Great Neck on the weekend of Oct.4 through 6, 2013.
