The Great Neck Water Pollution Control District board of commissioners will meet 8:30 a.m. at the GNWPCD office at 236 East Shore Road in Great Neck.

Steppingstone Concert

At 8 p.m. the Great Neck Park District will present a Steppingstone Summer Performing Arts concert, Hotel California: A Salute to the Eagles.  The performance will be at Steppingstone Park.  Admission is with a park card.

Board Of Education Meeting

The Great Neck Public Schools next public action meeting is Monday, Aug. 26, at 8 p.m. at the school district’s Phipps Administration Building at 345 Lakeville Road in Lake Success. For information, call  773-1407.

Library Public Community Meeting

The Great Neck Library will hold a public community meeting at 7 p.m. on the Main Library proposed building renovation. All community members are invited and encouraged to attend the meeting at the Station Branch Library, The Gardens at Great Neck, 26 Great Neck Road, second level, near Waldbaum’s. The architect will give a presentation of the approved building plan for the renovation. Refreshments will be served.

Park District Nature Program

At 7 a.m. the Great Neck Park District will sponsor a nature  program: Walk Before Work at Kings Point Park. Meet in the first lot at the park’s Steamboat Road entrance. No registration is required. No children under 16 years old are permitted. Call 482-0355 for more information.

Tuesdays With REAP

REAP, retired, energetic, active professionals meet every Tuesday at the Cumberland School, 30  Cumberland Avenue, Great Neck. At 9 a.m. Aaron Reisberg will discuss “Mesopotamia Cradle of Civilization.” A business meeting will follow, including “My Opinion” by Arthur Beecher. He will choose a topic of interest to all. Our featured speaker this week, at 11 a.m. is James Coll, who will present, “Can Albany Be Fixed?” Lunch, is at noon, followed by current events led by Peter Lubell.  Coffee, tea and refreshments will be served.  

Library Board of Trustees Meeting

The next regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Great Neck Library will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue.

Free Flu Shots

Free flu vaccinations will be provided at St. Aloysius Parish Center at 592 Middle Neck Road in Great Neck from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25. The flu shots are being offered in conjunction with Catholic Health Services and St. Francis Hospital. For more information, call 516 829-8343.

Citizenship Drive

St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Great Neck is sponsoring a citizenship drive on Monday, Sept. 23, from 1 to 8 p.m., at the church, 592 Middle Neck Road (in the social hall). Free services include private, individual legal consultation, help in completing the application, mailing, the application and a follow-up. Assistance is available by appointment only.
