The Great Neck Park District is offering a nature program, Late Summer Seasonal Stroll at 11 a.m. Meet in first lot at Steamboat Road entrance of Kings Point Park. No registration is required. No children under 16 years old permitted. Call 482-0355 for more information.
The Great Neck Park District will present a Steppingstone Summer Performing Arts concert, featuring Beginnings: Chicago Tribute, at 8 p.m. at Steppingstone Park. Admission is with park card.
At 9 a.m. the Great Neck Park District will sponsor a Sunday Family Special Event, a fishing derby at Steppingstone Park. Admission is with park card. The rain date Aug. 18.
At 8 p.m. the Great Neck Park District will present a special Persian concert starring KamyR. The concert will be presented in partnership with the Town of North Hempstead at the North Hempstead Park , 175 West Shore Road, Port Washington. Kosher food will be available for purchase from Shiraz. No show bus is scheduled.
Marty Adler will speak about the Borough of Brooklyn, its history, etymology of the street names, of course the Golden Age of Baseball (photographs, anecdotes, insights including three of the New York teams) and the forces that made it one of the nations’ outstanding locales at 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. Door prize will be given. Marty Adler is considered a baseball expert by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York, and is included in its registry.

At 9 a.m. the Board of Commissioners of the Great Neck Park District will hold a work session meeting at the Park District Office, 5 Beach Road.
REAP, retired, energetic, active, professionals meet every Tuesday at the Cumberland School, 30 Cumberland Avenue in Lake Success. At 9 a.m. significant issues will be presented by a member. A business meeting begins at 10:30 a.m. Sara Pelles will discuss her opinion on a topic of her choice of interest to everyone. The speaker is Bud Livingston who will discuss “The Brooklyn Dodgers1939-57. Following lunch, at 12:30 p.m., there will be a current events roundtable led by Ron Ulmann.
