At 9 a.m. the Board of Commissioners of the Great Neck Park District will hold a work session meeting at the Park District Office, 5 Beach Road.
The Great Neck Library will present a program, Video Game Design Workshop for Teens, presented by Sharper Training Solutions. The workshop is an introduction to the basics of video game creation, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. The Great Neck Park District will host a City Island dinner cruise from 4 to 7 p.m. or from 6 to 9 p.m. The round trip from Steppingstone to Lobster House restaurant in City Island is $25 per person. REAP, retired, energetic, active, professionals meet every Tuesday at the Cumberland School, 30 Cumberland Avenue. At 9 a.m. Jerry Peretsman will present “Overbearing Government.” This will be followed by a brief business meeting at 10:30 a.m. “My Opinion” will be led by Stan Goldfarb at 10:45 am, who will discuss a short subject of importance to us all. Bernie Saper is going to teach us about “Evaluation of a Photograph.” Please come and join us and feel free to bring your lunch as we eat together at noon. Refreshments are served.
For the fourteenth summer, The Rotary Club of Great Neck’s Summer Community Band offers free Wednesday evening concerts on the Village Green, at 7:30 p.m., co-sponsored by the Great Neck Park District. Patrons must provide their own chairs or blankets. July 17 is officially Children’s Night. The four soloists are: Omar Mira, baritone horn from J.F.K. School; Shalin Madan, cello from E.M. Baker School; Thomas Chang, trumpet from Saddle Rock School; and Maya Pfeiffer, violin from Lakeville School.
