At 8 p.m. the Great Neck Park District’s Steppingstone Park July 4th Concert will feature The Band of Long Island, with Michael Flamhaft conducting. The concert will include traditional and classical musical arrangements. The concert is free for all Great Neck Park District residents with a park card.

A 90-minute nostalgic retrospective of your Bronx of the 1940s, 50s and 60s will be presented by Steve Samtur at 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. Share memories of the Bronx including the Grand Concourse, Art Deco, Bronx Delis (East and West), Freedomland, Fordham Road, Movie Theatres including the Loew’s Paradise, Parkchester, Yankee Stadium, parks, shopping, schools, transportation and so much more.

Free 60-minute emergency preparedness presentation that teaches residents in Metro North and Long Island how to create a plan, build a supply kit, as well as keep loved ones safe and informed during times of disaster. The presentation is at 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library, 159 Bayview Avenue. Each participant will receive brochures with additional resources and information. Presented by Lauren Tonetti, American Red Cross Community Outreach & Preparedness Volunteer, AmeriCorps, State Preparedness Corps.
