The park district offers a nature program, a seasonal stroll in Kings Point Park, at 11 a.m. Use the Redbrook Road entrance. No registration required. Children under 16 years old are not permitted to attend. Call 482-0355.

Board of Education Meeting

The Great Neck Public Schools Board of Education holds a public action meeting at 7:30 p.m., South Middle School, 349 Lakeville Road.  Recognition of South Middle School students and annual budget hearing (discussion only). Info: 441-4001.

Park Board Meeting

At 9 a.m. the Board of Commissioners of the Great Neck Park District will hold a work session at the Park District Office, 5 Beach Road. 

Parkwood Tennis Center

Outdoor tennis programs begin at the Parkwood Tennis Center. Session 1 begins for Tiny Tots, Junior, Adults and Women’s Intensive Training Programs. Call 829-9050 for more information.

Tuesdays With REAP

REAP, retired energetic active professionals meets at the Cumberland School, 30 Cumberland Avenue, at 9 a.m.  Topic is Significant Issues, followed by a short business meeting and then My Opinion, a short discussion on a timely topic.  At 10:45 a.m .Stan Goldfarb will present the play Anastasia with members of the group reading and acting.  After lunch there is a current events roundtable led by Ron Ullman.  Refreshments are served.

Stewart F. Lane At Temple Emanuel 

Stewart F. Lane, five-time Tony award winning Broadway producer will speak on “Jews on Broadway” at 7:30 p.m. which is the name of his recently published, critically acclaimed book. All members of the community are invited to attend the Sabbath Eve Service. (There is no charge). The Sisterhood will sponsor a Shabbat dinner preceding the service. Stroke Awareness Day

Monday, May 20 - Stroke Awareness Day will be recognized by North Shore University Hospital, 300 Community Drive, Monti Room 1 in Manhasset from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Blood pressure screenings will be offered and clinical professionals will be available to answer questions and provide education on a variety of topics. (Retired Energetic Active People) invites recent and longtime retirees to join a group of your peers for inspiring programs and stimulating discussions. R.E.A.P meets every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (except when schools are closed) at the Cumberland School, 30 Cumberland Avenues, Great Neck. Bring lunch if you wish. Beverages are provided. Manhasset-Lakeville Fire And Water Districts Board Of Commissioners  

The board will meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 5 p.m. every month. All meetings will be conducted in the boardroom at the district office, 170 East Shore Road, Great Neck, unless otherwise publicly notified. The regular office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The board is available on a daily basis to respond to concerns, questions and issues of the district residents pertaining to fire/water district matters. Special arrangements or appointments can be made by calling 466-4416, ext. 704.
