The Great Neck Chamber of Commerce is set to host its Annual Awards Dinner on Wednesday evening, Jan. 28, at Melville Hall, the Officers' Club, at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point. This year there is a most impressive group of honorees who will be recognized for their outstanding community leadership.
Sandra Atlas Bass will receive the Jesse Market Award. The Robert E. Freedman Retailer Award will go to Phil Raices. Great Neck's own Murray Seeman will receive the Business Person of the Year Award. And former North Hempstead town supervisor, May Newburger, will be honored with the Chamber of Commerce's Lifetime Achievement Award.
Chamber of Commerce President Valerie Link is delighted with this year's "fabulous honorees." Ms. Link urges everyone to come to the dinner and honor this very special group of people who are so dedicated to the Great Neck community. "Please come and honor those who work so hard for us," said Ms. Link. "At a time when everyone worries about the financial crisis, let's help boost our own local economy by supporting all of our businesses through the Chamber of Commerce."
The evening will include cocktails and dinner. The event is $85 per person, and tickets can be purchased either at the Chamber of Commerce's website at www.greatneckchamber.org or by calling the Chamber of Commerce at 487-2000 (leave message if no one is there). Tickets will not be sold at the door the evening of the dinner.
To further support the Chamber of Commerce and local businesses, journal ads for the awards dinner may be purchased by calling Donna Frasco at 498-9111, extension 111, or by visiting the Chamber of Commerce website for a journal ad application.
