The hills of Great Neck are calling you!

Local runners are invited to join in the fun on the rolling hills of the Great Neck South High School Campus for the inaugural Blazing Trails 4 Autism Four Mile Run on Sunday, Nov. 9. The run will start at exactly 9:30 a.m.

The entire net proceeds of the run will be dedicated to the Eden II/Genesis Programs, which provide specialized community based services and other opportunities to individuals with autism. Race management chores will be handled by the Greater Long Island Running Club, with scoring and timing by JMS Racing Services, using the AMB chip timing system.

Staged entirely on the internal roads of the campus, with an exciting finish on the high school track, runners can enjoy the rolling hills and scenic vistas of this wooded facility on a traffic-free course.

Every entrant will receive a special commemorative hooded sweatshirt! Every entrant will also receive the chance to win lots of prizes in a great raffle that will feature a Cannondale 2009 CAAD bicycle valued at more than $1,000.

Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each of 16 age groups from 12 and under through 80 plus, plus Clydesdale Men and Athena Women.

Our thanks to key sponsor Brickwell Cycling-Multisports, and to the other major sponsors of the event - Anton Media Group, Tekniverse, Panera Bread, the Jack Fanning Memorial Foundation, the labor law firm of Clifton, Budd & DeMaria, and Different Roads to Learning.

For entry forms or more information, call the Greater Long Island Running Club at 349-7646.

Not up to a 4-mile run? Call GLIRC Coordinator of Volunteers Mindy Davidson at 520-9481 to volunteer.
