Great Neck High School students Daniel Siegel and Gabe Motola teamed up as a relay to win the 3rd Annual Splash & Dash Aquathlon Race held on Sept. 28 on an overcast, drizzly morning. Gabe, a swimmer from North High, completed the 800-meter open water swim in 13:24 seconds and Daniel, a runner from South High, completed the 5K run in 17:57 which was the fastest run time of the day.

The scenic race, sponsored by Douglaston Manor Association, Brickwell Cycling & Multisports of Great Neck and other local merchants is a great event for athletes looking for a challenging and fun aquathlon (swim/run) race. Athletes can choose to do the race individually or as a relay. For information about the 2009 race, go to www.brickwell.com which will have race information once details for the 2009 event are finalized.
