We would like to take this opportunity to remind our readers that our deadline (for all copy and photos) is 10 a.m. on Monday mornings (for that coming Thursday's issue of the Great Neck Record). Especially close to elections, too many letters come in too late for publication.
We hate to disappoint earnest letter writers, but the deadline is firm, as our paper is in production on Tuesdays and is then printed and mailed. It is not possible to add ''just one little item'' once the paper is finished. It's just not possible.
We certainly do appreciate all of the letters and all of the news that we receive here at the Record each week. And we know how important it is to share these letters and stories with the entire community --- that's what we are all about. We feel just terrible when a letter or a press release arrives too late.
So, please, let's all enjoy all of the letters and stories and information out there. Remember, our deadline is Monday mornings, 10 a.m. For the occasional weeks when there is a holiday we do set earlier deadlines. All early deadlines are published (generally on Page 1 or 2) a week or two in advance. Please watch the paper for early deadlines.
Please submit your stories on time; it helps everyone.
