Tickets are now on sale for the Great Neck Historical Society's second annual Trolley Tour, to be held Oct. 19. The brand new tour will last two hours and will travel the streets of Great Neck from Kings Point through Lake Success. No walking will be required.

Hop on Board the Historical Trolley Tour!

The tour is entitled "Great Neck Through the Years" and will explore our town's development from a colonial, agricultural community to an estate community, to one in which those estates were broken up by real estate developers, to the modern, diverse Great Neck of today.

Joel Friedman, a local resident with a passion for the history of Great Neck, will guide the tour. "For a community our size, we have an incredibly rich and varied history," Joel said.

The purpose of the Historical Society is the collection, preservation, presentation and interpretation of the Great Neck of the past and today.

Two tours will be given at 10 a.m. and at 1:30 p.m. A total of 34 seats are available for each tour. Ticket prices are $25 for members and $30 for non-members. To become a member, the cost is $15 for an individual and $25 for a family.

The tour will begin and end at Great Neck House, 14 Arrandale Ave. It will take place rain or shine. The charming-looking 'trolley' is enclosed and heated.

For tickets mail a self-addressed stamped envelope (be sure to select the time) and check made out to Great Neck Historical Society to Alice Kasten, 131 Allenwood Rd., Great Neck, NY 11023. For additional information on the tour call 466-8954.

The Great Neck Historical Society wishes to thank the generous and enthusiastic supporters for making this tour possible: Edna Mashaal Realty, The Inn at Great Neck, Daruma Japanese Restaurant, United Capital Equities, Nu-Clear Cleaners and Launderers, Vision Associates Eye Care, Campaign to Re-elect Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel, Healthy Approach Vitamin Outlet, La Gioconda Restaurant, and Seth Okin, DDS.
