The United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point is inviting all swimmers over the age of 18 to join their new Master's Swimming Team. The practices will be structured to promote good health and focus on swimming technique while improving each participant's level of swimming.

Coaches Sean Tedesco and Matt McGrane are eager to help swimmers improve their efficiency so that they can get faster and meet their personal goals.

Coach Tedesco is the Academy's head swimming coach and has been coaching for over 10 years at the collegiate level. He is an experienced tri-athlete who has conquered the Wisconsin Ironman. He is a 2006 and 2007 Honorable Mention All-American Triathlete. His level of speed and endurance can motivate anyone!

Coach Matt McGrane has 18 years experience coaching swimming for the Manhasset School district and various country clubs. His calm and poised demeanor will help swimmers focus on their individual achievements. His knowledge of proper swimming technique will be influential to swimmers of all levels.

These two great forces are joining together to provide a rewarding training environment with innovative ideas around technique and workouts.

The program will begin on Oct. 1, 2008 and end on May 31, 2009. All practices will be held from 6 to 7:30 a.m.

Registration has already begun.
