Cliff Fishler, 16, a junior at Great Neck South High, won first place in the men's Epee Division II National Tournament out of 113 competitors in San Jose, CA this summer. Fishler achieved top 16 finish out of 126 competitors in his under-16 age group.

Cliff continues to train this summer with top ranked fencers in the country, three to five days per week in Manhattan. He has been fencing competitive epee since eighth grade. A good fencer is tenacious, can ride out adversity and is willing to take a chance.

Locally, Cliff was on Newsday's All-Long Island Team for 2007/8 season and was Nassau County Champion at Great Neck South High School in both his freshman and sophomore years. Cliff was a 2007/8 scholar/athlete and assistant captain of the team, which was the Nassau County Champion last season. Cliff received the Coach's Varsity Award for Leadership.
