Senior goalkeeper Jake Mendlinger (Great Neck South High School, Class of 2004) of the Haverford College men's lacrosse team was named Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week recently.

Mendlinger turned away 24 of 33 shots on goal (72.7 save percentage) as the Fords registered two key wins recently. In 55 minutes of work against Ursinus, he made eight saves and allowed three goals in the 6-5 victory. Mendlinger had 16 saves in the 10-6 win against Franklin & Marshall and did not allow a goal in the final 11:47 of the contest.

For the season, the senior goalkeeper has made 118 saves and .567 save percentage to go along with an 8.22 goals against average.

Haverford (9-2, 4-2 CC) is currently ranked No. 6 in the country.
