Obituaries
Richard L. Posen, 57 of Manhattan, died Dec. 27, 2007. He is survived by his wife Sharri Silberglait Posen; his children, Danielle Posen Mindlin Jonathan Posen; and son-in-law Alex Mindlin; his parents, Susan and Warner Posen; and his brothers Dennis and Michael Posen. Rick Posen was a well known respected attorney in Manhattan. He, his wife and two brothers all graduated from Great Neck North Sr. High School.

Eleanor Kay, a 52-year resident of Great Neck, died on Jan. 6, 2008 in Tucson, AZ, at the age of 85. Eleanor Hannelore Buchdahl was born in Rheine, Germany on March 1, 1922. She arrived in the United States in Hoboken, NJ on Dec. 5, 1939. She married Henry H. Kay in 1950 and they moved to Great Neck in 1954. She was known for her care of sick and elderly friends and family members, baking chocolate cakes and linzertortes for them and for numerous community events. She was an ardent admirer and supporter of contemporary art. She was also an avid tennis player at Allenwood Park and Parkwood courts.

She is survived by her sons Ken Kay and Karen Christensen of Tucson, AZ, and Jamie and Claudia Kay of Los Angeles, CA. "Oma" is also survived by her six grandchildren: Jeff and Sarah Smithson of Mansfield, CT, Braden Kay of Chicago, IL, Bergen Kay of New York City and Taylor, Jordan and Bryana Kay of Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by her nephew Rabbi Gustav and Sheila Buchdahl of Baltimore, MD, their children, Micah and Ivy, Ezra and Erica and Hannah and their grandchildren Max, Sarah and Lily.

In honor of Elly's commitment to the next generations of artists, an Elly Kay Contemporary Art Fund has been established to create a yearly emerging artists event in her honor. Contributions should be sent to: The Elly Kay Fund, c/o The Museum of Contemporary Art, 191 E. Toole Ave. Tucson, AZ 85701.

Clifton Hicks, a long time resident of Great Neck, died on Dec. 29, 2007. He was a member of the Alert Fire Dept in Great Neck for 61 years. Also the Charles A. Fowler American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars of Great Neck. Beloved husband of Helen "Boobie" Hicks and beloved father of Mary Ellen Hicks. Loving sister-in-law of Sophie Ryder. Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the Fairchild Funeral Chapel. Mass at St. Aloysius Church. Interment All Saints Church. Many thanks to the Kings Point Police Department who provided a police escort and to the Alert Fire Department who assisted with pall bearers and fire truck to take him to his final resting place.
