Betty Irene Power, age 79, wife of the late William M. Power, Jr., died peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 26, 2007 in Hampton, VA.

Betty McHenny was born in Chelsea, MI on April 9, 1928. Betty met Billy Power while he was in the Air Force and stationed in Battle Creek, MI. Later they moved to Great Neck where they lived for 42 years until Bill's death.

Betty earned her bachelors of science degree in nursing from Stony Brook University in 1975. She worked at North Shore University Hospital as a registered nurse from 1975 until her retirement in 1999. Upon retiring, Betty moved to Hampton, VA where she was a volunteer at Sentara Hospital, a member of the Elizabeth Lakes Garden Club, and enjoyed playing bridge.

Survivors include her four children, Cathy Power-Mulford, Mike Power, Betsy Power and Jay Power; five grandchildren, Sarah, Zach and Sage Otto, Chris and Conor Mulford; and many siblings and nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Jan. 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 592 Middle Neck Rd., Great Neck.

Melvin E. Goren, of Great Neck, died on Dec. 7, 2007. He is survived by his wife Rena Goren and two daughters. Arrangements were made by Riverside-Nassau North Chapels, Great Neck. A service was held on Dec. 10 with Rabbi Theodore Tsuruoka officiating. Interment Beth Moses Cemetery. Dorothy Sells Miller, 82, of Floral Park, died December 11, 2007. Wife of the late Dr. Newton Miller. Mother of Dr. Elisabeth Post and Nancy Kurzweil. Arrangements were made by Riverside-Nassau North Chapels, Great Neck. A service was held on Dec. 14 with Rabbi Alan Lucas officiating. Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
