On Saturday, April 10, at Allenwood field, the As played the Dodgers, who had upset the top seeded Reds, in the PAL fifth-seventh grade fall baseball finals. In a tight pitcher's battle, the As opened the scoring in the top of the third when Jared Horowitz led off with a line drive double to left field and was driven in when Jeremy Taube laced an RBI triple to right centerfield.
Taube then scored on a RBI grounder by Mickey Hanley to give the As a 2 - 0 lead. The score was still 2 - 0 heading into the fifth as the As broke open a close game when Josh Moinian crushed a bases clearing shot deep to left field for a 6 - 0 lead.
As pitchers Shaun Kaiman, Josh Moinian, Jeremy Taube and Mickey Hanley made that score stand by combining to pitch a no hit shutout. Daniel Engelson, Jared Kossover and Tyler Bloom made key defensive plays in the field to ensure the shutout. It was a great conclusion to another successful season for PAL fall baseball.
