Rafe Lieber: New Plaza Trustee
Rafe Lieber, a 26-year resident of the Village of Great Neck Plaza, was appointed to a trustee position at the village's Nov. 7 board of trustees meeting. Unanimously supported by the mayor and the board, Mr. Lieber was sworn in by Plaza Mayor Jean Celender at the start of the meeting.

Vision of East Shore Road Dimmed
Although no vote was taken, at the last Village of Great Neck meeting, Mayor Ralph Kreitzman and the entire board of trustees reluctantly and rather sadly concurred that the village would have to abandon the waterfront residential rezoning plan that lost a court challenge and appeal.

LI 2-Day Breast Cancer Walk to Award Scholarships
LI2DAY Executive Director Ginny Salerno announced recently that Long Island high school seniors who live with a parent or guardian who is a survivor or victim of breast cancer can apply for the 2008 LI2Day Scholarship. High school seniors who meet the scholarship stipulations are eligible to receive a one-time award of $2,500.

Great Neck South Key Club Makes Strides Against Breast Cancer
On Sunday, Oct. 21, the Great Neck South High School Key Club joined tens of thousands of other walkers in making strides against breast cancer at Jones Beach. More than 20 Great Neck South High School students attended the walk and as a team raised over $2,500.
