The crowd shouted
Let's hear what you say
Your thoughts may be
Our doing it your way
He was a slight man
With a complexion fuzzy red
He arose, and spoke to the people
And this is what he said
"We live in a complex world
Where we mustn't make a mistake,
Our values should be of the highest priority
Especially for our children's sake"
"Can I promise you
That war will be no more
Or Government's policy
Will be honest to its core?"
"That the economy
And plan's for health
Will improve to the point
There by increasing your life's wealth
"To the loud, and meek
The strong, and weak
Look to your conscience
For the decency we always seek."
"No! My friends
Promises are cheap
But what I can promise
Is doing the best I can
So living will be better
For every woman, and man"
The crowd remained silent
As he quietly sat down
Suddenly they rose giving a rousing cheer
For the words spoke
So frank, and clear.
They now finally had
A politician with an honest side
Embellishing all
With immense pride.
