Eighth Annual Autism Walk Oct. 14
Hundreds of walkers --- including individuals with autism, their families and friends --- are expected to join together to raise much-needed funds for critical scientific research and to increase awareness about a growing health crisis that now affects 1 in every 150 children at the 8th Annual Long Island Walk Now for Autism on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 9:30 a.m. at Jones Beach State Park, Field 5, Wantagh.

USMMA Student Athletes Earn Player of Week Honors
Tri-captain and defender Chris Nitta of the United States Merchant Marine Academy soccer team has been named the Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office earlier today. The sweeper anchored a Mariner defense that posted two shutouts this week and only allowed an average of 4.5 shots on goal per game.
