Town Appoints Jerry Landsberg to GNWPCD
North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman and Councilwoman Maria-Christina Poons have announced that the town board, by a 7-0 vote at its Sept. 4 meeting, appointed Jerry Landsberg of Great Neck as a commissioner of the Great Neck Water Pollution Control District. Mr. Landsberg was appointed to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of former Commissioner David Lurie.

On Sunday, Sept. 23, the streets of Great Neck Plaza will be lined with thousands of people showing their community spirit as vintage cars, a clothesline art show and antique products will be on display at the annual Great Neck Plaza Street Festival and AutoFest.

Great Team Effort for GN Wolverines
On Sept. 8, the Great Neck Wolverines demonstrated a great team effort in its first 2007 LIJSL fall season Division 3 league game against Sachem Force. The Wolverines had a tremendous amount of chances in the first half; however, the Force scored a late goal to take a 1-0 halftime lead with the temperature approaching 90 degrees. However, Matt Tomazic and Zachary Yaghoobian had numerous opportunities, but unfortunately, shot them over the crossbar or at the goalkeeper.
