On Monday, July 16, Wildwood Pool & Tennis Club in Great Neck hosted over 50 ladies at their first Play for P.I.N.K. tennis tournament and mah jong competition.

The winners: Leslie, Stefanie, Anne and Diana.

Play for P.I.N.K. was started in 1990 by a group of women who were saddened when one of their friends was diagnosed with breast cancer. Prevention, Immediate diagnosis, New technology, Knowledge empowered them to raise money; 100 percent goes to breast cancer research. Bloomberg, Estee Lauder, Target and Wilson cover all the expenses involved with the tournament. Wildwood Pool & Tennis raised over $5,000. In addition, our tennis pro, Russell Heier generously donated his time and energy in running a terrific tournament. Bagel Hut provided delicious bagels and muffins to start the morning. Our club manager, Maureen Radcliffe, and Wildwood's team of lifeguards, Jaclyn Alper, Romy Chiarotti, Isaac Fouladi, Henry Friedman, Nicole Getzelman, Max Novitsky, Emily Ostrou, Brandon Swed, Juliana Taney, and Monique Zamir, provided and prepared the lunch at Wildwood for this event. Robin O'Hara donated the flowers which beautified the event.

The champions in the tennis competition were Anne Kantor, a Wildwood member, and Diana Fitzgerald. The runners up were Leslie Centner, a Wildwood member, and Stefanie Fishkin. In addition to the goodie bags provided to all contributors, they received a silver picture frame with Play for P.I.N.K. and a can of Wilson pink tennis balls. The other semifinalists were Wildwood members Tina Lobel, Michelle Schecter and Marcie Zeitlin, and Pat Siegel.
