Adele Schachter passed away on July 26, 2007 at Daughters of Israel Geriatric Center in West Orange. She was 84. Born in Brooklyn, Mrs. Schachter was a life-long resident of Great Neck until moving to West Orange in 2006. She and her family were very active members of Temple Israel of Great Neck. Mrs. Schachter was recently predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Harry. She was the devoted mother of Howard, Robert and Scott Schachter and was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Services were held at Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel in Livingston (973-422-0600). Contributions in her memory may be made to the Rachel Schachter Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Temple Emanul-El of Closter.
