Remember Zachary Portnoy: Support St. Mary's Walk
"We are living in a world that we never expected to be living in," say Robin and Kevin Portnoy, as they tell the story of their little boy Zachary, who died this past Feb. 22, after bravely fighting a battle with cancer for over five years. His nine-year-old twin brother Benji, and their two younger brothers Jacob and Matthew, tell how much they loved Zachy, how much they miss him, and how they continue to write to him each day in a journal.

Pedal Strokes for a Cure
On May 20 Great Neck's Polly Whitehorn rode 100 miles on her bike from Babylon to Montauk. Whitehorn did this as a member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. Team in Training is a national endurance fundraising program that supports funding for research, public and professional education, patient aid and community service programs.

Great Neck North's Linell Named to HIP Grand Slam Baseball Roster
Mike Linell, a centerfielder for Great Neck High School North, has been named to the Nassau County roster for the third annual HIP Grand Slam Challenge high school baseball all-star game. The game will be held at Citibank Park on Saturday, June 9, at 7 p.m.
