The Uniformed Firefighters Association representing all active and retired New York City Firefighters will host their fifth annual golf outing on Monday, June 25 at the Garden City Country Club to raise money for college scholarships.
"This event is very significant as it gives us the ability to aid the families of active and retired firefighters in deferring the cost of higher education,î said Stephen Cassidy, president of the Uniformed Firefighters Association. "Every year, we have such a great turn out of local celebrities, prominent businessmen and even some Hollywood stars. We are confident that this year will be no exception."
The cost of the outing is $1,000 per player and will include an entire day of festivities from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Registration will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a brunch, a round of 18 holes of golf, a cocktail reception and an elegant dinner. †
There are a variety of sponsorship opportunities available for this event ranging from $1,000 - $50,000.
The annual golf outing was started in 2002, but this is the first year it will be held at the Garden City Country Club. Today, the spirit of camaraderie and generosity among the NYC Firefighters community remains strong as they continue to raise money to benefit the children of all New York City firefighters. †
