Virginia Fitzgerald, a lifelong resident of Great Neck, passed away at her home on Feb. 14, 2007, after a brief illness. A funeral Mass was held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church followed by a burial at Holy Rood Cemetery. Virginia, born on Jan. 4, 1923, was the daughter of Jessie Webb O'Brien and John O'Brien, also of Great Neck. She graduated in 1945 from Bates College in Lewiston, ME, with a degree in Business Administration. Prior to her retirement in 1986, Virginia worked for US Life Insurance Company in New York City. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Francis Fitzgerald. Virginia is survived by Robert Parrett and Bernadette Parrett Fallon of Great Neck, Cathleen Barnier and Anne Fitzgerald of Santa Rosa, CA, and Charles Fitzgerald of Orlando, FL.
