Great Neck Community School Celebrates 75th Anniversary
Plans are under way at the Great Neck Community School for a Diamond Jubilee Gala on March 24 to culminate year long activities celebrating the school's 75th anniversary. Community School parents, teachers, alumni, and friends will gather at Harbor Links Golf Club in North Hempstead to honor 75 years of excellence.

Islander's Di Pietro Supports Island Harvest
New York Islanders' goaltender, Rick DiPietro, the 2007 chairman of Island Harvest's Coin Harvest Campaign, is urging all Long Island schoolchildren to participate in the fundraising effort to raise money to help Island Harvest end hunger and eliminate food waste on Long Island. The campaign, which incorporates a hunger awareness curriculum, helps students learn about the problem of hunger while teaching them about becoming involved in their communities.

Islander's Host Autism Awareness Night
The Developmental Disabilities Institute, Long Island's leading service provider for adults and children with autism and other developmental disabilities is teaming up with the New York Islanders ice hockey team to help raise awareness and funds for autism. The second annual DDI Family Night with the Islanders will take place on Saturday, Feb. 17 at Nassau Coliseum. DDI has secured an entire section of seats for the 7 p.m. game and will be selling the tickets for a discounted rate of $39. All proceeds will go towards funding the vital programs and services DDI provides for over 1,500 Long Island families.
