Wins by freshmen Philip Greene and Eric Vincent help the United States Merchant Marine Academy men's wrestling earn points in their 9-34 loss to Rutgers University, recently. The Mariners were also defeated by the United States Military Academy, who swept both USMMA and Rutgers.

Against Rutgers, Greene pinned Scarlet Knight Andrew DelGuercio at 6:43 in the 125 lb. match-up, giving the Mariners the lead 6-0.

After losing the next seven bouts, Mariner freshman Vincent added another three points to the Mariners score at 197 lbs, with a 9-4 decision over Rutgers' Karim Mahmoud.

In the first match against Army, the Mariners were swept 41-0.

The Mariners will face Army again at the All-Academy Wrestling Championships on Feb. 3, hosted by the United States Air Force Academy.

The losses give the Mariners a 0-7 record in dual meets this season.

Greene and Vincent are both 6-1 dual meets, with their losses Saturday against Army, being the only ones.
