Village of Great Neck Rezoning Issue Update
At the Jan.16 meeting of the mayor and trustees of the Village of Great Neck, after lengthy discussion, it was decided that the board would hire an environmental planning firm to review the environmental assessment that was submitted as part of an application to rezone a land locked parcel behind the Versailles apartment building on Old Mill Road. Two environmental planning firms are under consideration, Nelson & Pope and Saccardi & Schiff, Inc.

Craig Johnson Comes to Great Neck
Emphasizing strong mutual support with Governor Eliot Spitzer, and quite proud of his ties to Great Neck, Craig Johnson recently told the Great Neck Democratic Club that "the sky's the limit" if he wins Michael Balboni's vacated seat for the state's seventh senatorial district. Endorsed by both the governor and United States Senator Charles Schumer, Mr. Johnson, currently a Nassau County legislator, says he is ready to "bring transparency back into government."

USMMA Wrestling Team Update
Wins by freshmen Philip Greene and Eric Vincent help the United States Merchant Marine Academy men's wrestling earn points in their 9-34 loss to Rutgers University, recently. The Mariners were also defeated by the United States Military Academy, who swept both USMMA and Rutgers.
