VGN Trustees Request Action Against Mayor
Misuse of Village Resources Charged --
On Aug. 23, the Village of Great Neck's Deputy Mayor Ralph Kreitzman wrote a letter to Clerk-Treasurer John Dominsky requesting "an action be brought against Mayor Richard Deem to recover all money and property of the village that he appropriated contrary to law." The deputy mayor further asked that the matter be put on the agenda for the Sept. 5 board of trustees meeting.
Great Neck Park District Vindicated
On Aug. 28, the Commissioners of the Great Neck Park District Robert Lincoln, Ruth Tamarin and Ivar Segalowitz held a press conference and released the following statement:
GN PAL Judo Scores Bigtime
Most kids go to Florida to go to the world class amusement parks or play in the warm ocean surf; Paul Gorelov went down to fight. Paul, who is an 11-year-old from Great Neck, wasnít really picking a fight, he was representing the Great Neck PAL Judo team at the United States Judo Association Junior Nationals in Boca Raton. The nationals were held in August at Florida Atlantic University. Paul was successful in capturing the gold medal in his weight and age division, making him the reigning USJA National Champion in that category.
Kiwanis, Key and K Clubs Support Memory Walk
For the fourth consecutive year, Kiwanis, Key and Circle-K Club members will help raise funds for Memory Walk. This year local clubs are forming their own teams to help AALI reach its $200,000 goal. In addition, Kiwanis, Key and K Club members will be volunteering their time to help with the dayís events. Kiwanis International has played a significant role in Memory Walk, not only here on Long Island but across New York State. Alzheimerís Association Long Island is most grateful for their continued support.
