This Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 1 to 4, more than 200 cyclists will bike together in the 6th Annual Hazon New York Jewish Environmental Bike Ride with the common goal to support a wide range of environmental projects and organizations throughout the US, Israel and all over the world.
Funds from the two-day, 125-mile bike ride support the work of a number of different projects, including Tuv Ha'Aretz, Hazon's Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) initiative, the Adamah fellowship which is training a new generation of Jewish organic farmers and activists, and the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies --- the pre-eminent professional leadership program for environmental leaders in the Middle East; AIES students who are Palestinian, Jordanian and Israeli will be at the New York Ride.
Riders pay a registration fee to cover expenses for the weekend and commit to raise $1,000 to support Jewish environmental education, programming and advocacy, (students and second family members of riders must raise a minimum of $600).
