For all of our friends and neighbors who spend so much time riding around looking for a spot or just plain complaining about a lack of parking, may we remind you that there is plentiful parking all over Great Neck. In the Old Village, there is lots of on-the-street parking and many free municipal parking lots. In our busy downtown, in Great Neck Plaza, there is metered parking in municipal lots, on the streets, and, yes, in the garages.

The large municipal garage that adjoins Great Neck Plaza Village Hall is not just for official parking or just for merchant and resident parking (with permits). This spacious, multi-level garage (complete with an elevator) is open for public parking. Levels are specifically marked, and metered, where anyone may park at anytime. Meters are for two hours. However, after 3 p.m. and on weekends, all spots (except official parking) at the Gussack Plaza garage and at the Maple Drive garage are free. It's greatly convenient for shopping trips in town or even for dinner one evening.

So next time you contemplate a shopping trip around town, remember, in the Old Village there is lots of free on-street parking as well as more than enough free municipal parking lots. And in our busy downtown area, the Plaza, there is lots of convenient parking. The Old Village and the Plaza have both made it easy for you to shop and enjoy the business areas.

Spread the word around --- there's plenty of parking!
