Children's Medical Fund of New York has been named the new benefactor for the Kids Golf for Kids Charities' 3rd annual Outing (www.kidsgolf4kidscharities.com). Kids Golf is an organization that was started two years ago in 2004 by Brian Burstein, 19 and David Burstein 16, of Lake Success. They wanted to find a way to help children on Long Island while doing what they love, golf. They found the answer, they started the kids golf charity and created a kids only golf outing.
Senior events coordinator Gregg Hirschorn says, "It could not be a better fit. Kids helping kids is really what this event is all about. It really teaches a lesson to kids that giving back to the community should start at an early age, it's never too soon to give back."
The event, which takes place at Eisenhower Park Red Course on Aug. 21, is a tournament that allows boys and girls ages 12 -21 to compete in one of Long Island's only "kids only" golf outings. It's a full day of golf with a fun BBQ, great raffles and awards presentation at the end of this all-day event.
The event also allows for the community to get involved as well. Kids Golf has a journal, allowing businesses and sponsors to be recognized for the support of these two great charities.
CMF holds the proud distinction of being the single largest contributor to Schneider Children's Hospital. Through a wide network of friends, volunteers and deeply committed donors, CMF has raised nearly 41 million dollars to help build, equip and secure on-going funding for programs that are vital to the needs of seriously ill children, and their families.
