The Great Neck Community School has been fortunate to have the Farkas family as part of our school community. Lauren Farkas was diagnosed with, and treated for, cancer while attending our school. The staff and parents rallied to help support Lauren, her siblings Alana and Matthew and her very special parents Beth and Larry Farkas.

In appreciation, the Farkas family donated the wonderful playground structure in the photo to celebrate Lauren's road to recovery.

We greatly appreciate their caring and giving to our school as well as the four new Fun Center Entertainment units (see Great Neck Record - July 13, page 2) donated to Schneider Children's Hospital in New Hyde Park on behalf of Lauren. What a terrific family to think of others during their time of adversity and hardship.
