Junior Regatta Benefits Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation
Young sailors from the various local yacht clubs will compete in the third annual "A Regatta to Remember," on July 16, to benefit the Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation (LIAF). Hosted by Manhasset Bay Yacht Club (MBYC), the day is sure to be fun-filled for the young competitors to show-off their racing prowess, while raising money for an important cause. "It's important that the kids have fun, but it's equally important that they learn to do something for the community," said MYBC Commodore Robert Prokop. The regatta will include several races, with Pixel, 420, Laser, Laser Radial, Blue Jay, and Optimist classes competing in separate events in Manhasset Bay.
