The Great Neck Public Schools Board of Education adopted a schedule of the board's business meetings and budget meetings for the new 2006-2007 school year. Meetings begin at 8:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Locations will be published at a later date.

The board of education's 2006-2007 organization meeting is tonight, Thursday, July 6, 8:30 p.m., at the Phipps Board Room at the Phipps Administration Building. The board is not scheduled to meet again until after school opens; that meeting is slated for Monday evening, Sept. 18.

The board will then meet again on Monday evening, Oct. 16, at 8:30 p.m., and then on Monday evening, Nov. 13, 8:30 p.m. The board will also meet at 8:30 p.m. on Monday evening, Dec. 4 and on Monday evening, Jan. 8, 2007.

There will be a GNTA/UPTC budget meeting on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at 7:30 p.m., and a regular business meeting on Monday evening, Jan. 22, at 8:30 p.m.

On Monday evening, Feb. 5, 2007, there will be a board of education student recognition for Village School students, with the recognition scheduled for 8 p.m., immediately followed by the regular business meeting.

There will be two board of education meetings in March 2007. On Monday evening, March 12, there will be a student recognition of North High students at 8 p.m., immediately followed by the regular business meeting and the first informal budget hearing. On Monday evening, March 26, there will be a student recognition of South High students at 8 p.m., immediately followed by the regular business meeting and the second informal budget hearing.

A line-by-line budgeT meeting will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2007, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

On Monday evening, April 23, 2007, there will be student recognition of North Middle students starting at 8 a.m., immediately followed by an official public hearing and adoption of the budget, in addition to the regular business meeting.

There will be a student recognition of South Middle students on Monday evening, May 7, 2007, at 8 p.m., immediately followed by the annual budget hearing and the board's regular business meeting.

The budget vote for the school district is Tuesday, May 15, 2007, with a meeting at 10:30 p.m.

On Monday evening, June 4, the board will hold a special student recognition at 8 p.m., followed by the regular business meeting.

Year-end recognitions are Monday evening, June 18, 2007, at 8 p.m., once again immediately followed by the regular business meeting.

The board of education's organizational meeting for the 2007-2008 school year is now scheduled for Monday evening, July 2, 2007, at 8:30 p.m.
