Great Neck Thunder and Road Runners' trainer Paul Cutter and his wife Noelle lost their 16-month-old nephew, Louis, who was diagnosed with brain cancer at the end of April. The family began organizing a fund-raising for June 4, at the boardwalk in Long Beach to raise money to help defray medical expenses and to raise money for donation to programs searching for a cure.

Sadly, by the time Louis showed any symptoms, the disease was too far gone (as is too often the case with children) and he lost his fight on May 18.

In honor of Louis' memory, the family held the walk in the hopes of raising money that can be put to the use of sparing other families from the heartbreak of losing a beloved child.

The Great Neck Soccer Club donated $50 for each player who participated in the walk. In addition, players were asked to look for additional sponsors, family and friends willing to make donations to this worthy cause. The walk raised $17,000. Anyone who would like to make a donation can send it to the following address.

Please make checks payable to: Little Louie Fund, c/o Pat and Erin Cuomo, 9801 Tuxford Road, Richmond, VA 23236.
