Looking for the ultimate "feel-good" bike ride or walk? "Memories in Motion," sponsored by the Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation (LIAF), combines great exercise, great scenery and a great cause.

Registration is now underway for LIAF's 6th annual bike tour and walk on Saturday, May 20. The bike tour winds through Nassau County's beautiful North Shore, and the walk is around the C.W. Post Campus in Brookville.

Cyclists can choose either a 30-mile or 20-mile route from the starting point at Long Island University's C.W. Post Campus, East Gate, Northern Blvd, Brookville. The 30-mile course begins at 8:15 a.m. sharp; the shorter route starts promptly at 8:45 a.m. The walk begins at 9 a.m.

LIAF encourages everyone to register in advance, although you can sign up from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. on the day of the event. The registration fee is $25, and participants must pledge a minimum $50. Teams of three or more receive a special hat.

All participants will receive a souvenir T-shirt and goody bag stocked with sports-related items. Top fundraisers are eligible for various prizes.

To register or for more information, call LIAF toll-free at 866-789-5423 or visit www.liaf.org.

All proceeds from "Memories in Motion" support LIAF's educational and social services for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, and their caregivers, including resource and referral services, counseling, in-home respite care, an adult day services program, and support groups for clients and caregivers. Founded in 1988, the nonprofit organization serves the estimated 135,000 individuals with Alzheimer's and their families in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Brooklyn.
