Honor for Shay Doron
The National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame and Museum has announced that Matt Bernstein, a fullback from the University of Wisconsin, and Shay Doron, a guard on the University of Maryland women's basketball team originally from Great Neck, have been selected for the 2006 "Marty Glickman Outstanding Jewish Scholastic Athlete of the Year" award.
R.A.V.E. Walk This Sunday
The Zonta Club of Greater Queens, with the support of The Rotary Club of Gold Coast/Lake Success, is sponsoring a "R.A.V.E. (Rape And Violence Eradication) Walk" on Sunday, April 23, noon to 2 p.m., at Clinton Martin Park in New Hyde Park to help significant organizations continue their work, providing the practical and psychological support needed to break free from abuse.
