On Sunday, April 30, there will be a National Mitzvah Walk of Hope to benefit Tikva children's centers in Odessa, Ukraine.

The Tikva Children's Home was created to address the growing crises of orphaned, abandoned and homeless Jewish children in Odessa.

Jewish communities, congregations, JCCs and day schools around the country will be sponsoring walk-a-thons to raise money and awareness for this wonderful organization on that day. The Great Neck Jewish community is proud to be sponsoring a Mitzvah Walk, organized by members of Temple Beth-El, Temple Isaiah, and Temple Israel. The 2.5-mile walk will begin at 1:30 p.m. from Temple Beth-El and at 1:45 p.m. from Temple Israel, with registration beginning 15 minutes prior at each location.

The Mitzvah Walk is open to the entire community. Get your friends to back your walking effort, per mile or a flat donation. (Please have checks made out to "Tikva.") Tikva Children's Home is a good cause. Come, join with your friends, take a leisurely walk, and bring hope to homeless Jewish children in Odessa.

For more information, please contact Ruth Rosenstein (482-3603) or the Religious School offices at Temple Beth-El (487-0900 ext. 126), Temple Isaiah (487-8709), or Temple Israel (482-7800 ext. 1110).
