Suzy Shechtman Nominated for Three Emmy Awards
On Sunday, March 12, The New York Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences will recognize outstanding achievement in television, conferring the industry's most coveted symbol of distinction, the Emmy, at an Awards Gala, which will take place at the Marriott Marquis, Times Square, Broadway at 7 p.m. The Hidden Life, a one -hour documentary produced by Long Island residents, Suzy Shechtman and Dr. Burton Grebin, has been nominated for three Emmy Awards.

DEC Public Meeting: 47 Northern Boulevard
Once again Great Neck residents are asked by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), in consultation with the NYS Department of Health, to attend a public informational meeting to discuss a Proposed Remedial Action Plan (PRAP) for the Citizens Development Company (CDC), 47 Northern Boulevard. It will take place on Tuesday evening, March 14, 7 p.m. at the main branch of the Great Neck Library, 159 Bayview Avenue, Community Room and not at the Lakeville branch as announced in a previous limited DEC mailing.

Mariners Break Nine Academy Records at Metropolitan Championships
By midnight on Sunday, Feb. 19, the USMMA swimming and diving team had successfully completed their final swims at the 2006 Metropolitan Championships, walking away with eight NCAA qualifying times, while breaking nine Academy records.

Freshman Guard Named Skyline Rookie of the Year
U.S. Merchant Marine Academy guard Kristen Hetsko was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-Skyline. Hetsko, a freshman from Killingworth, CT (Haddamn-Killingworth), was named Skyline Rookie of the Week on five occasions this season. At the end of regular season play, Hetsko led the conference in three-pointers made with 66.
