Annual Rabbinic Dialogue at Temple Beth-El
Rabbi Jerome Davidson from Temple Beth-El, Rabbi Dale Polakoff from Great Neck Synagogue, and Rabbi Howard Steckler from Temple Israel will come together at the annual Rabbinic Dialogue, which will be held this year on Sunday, Jan. 9 at 9:30 a.m. at Temple Beth-El. The rabbis will discuss critical issues facing contemporary Jewish life. They will surely differ reflecting the particular views of their respective branches of Judaism concerning some matters, and will undoubtedly concur regarding others.

USMMA Sea-year Student Athlete Challenges
At the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, the students are required to spend a minimum of 300 days at sea in order to graduate. During their sophomore and junior years, the midshipmen give up four to eight months of their time to travel to different world ports to gain practical knowledge of the Maritime industry.
