Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, it's time to look forward to Hanukah and Christmas. We all anticipate the joys of those holidays, the family get-togethers, the parties, and the fun of giving and receiving gifts.
Retailers say that the day after Thanksgiving is the biggest shopping day of the season. But this year, with Hanukah and Christmas together at the end of December, it should be a pretty long and busy holiday-shopping season all month. And, once again, we want to remind everyone that when you think shopping, think Great Neck.
Shopping in your own home town is certainly the quickest and easiest way to shop anytime. With the time pressures around the holiday season, it is particularly nice to know that the gifts you are looking for are just a few minutes' drive, or walk, away. And how lovely to shop in these familiar stores where the merchants actually know your name, know your personal tastes, and are anxious to please.
A good look at Great Neck will show you that there is a wide variety of wonderful gift items in all kinds of shops up and down the peninsula. There is something for everyone --- from toys to shoes, from beautiful clothes for every member of the family to jewelry for every taste, from appealing home and personal accessories to art work, from delicious food treats to rare wines, and so much more!
We have said it before, but it is surely worth repeating that supporting your local shops not only lets you enjoy pretty much one-stop shopping, but supporting local merchants helps keep this community vibrant and healthy, and most definitely helps maintain real estate values.
So remember, for the holidays, when you think shopping, think Great Neck!
